The Energy Information Administration (EIA) releases its weekly Petroleum Report for each Saturday-To-Friday week the following Wednesday at 10:30 AM EDT, excluding holidays. This data is reproduced below or is publicly available HERE.

API Storage Forecast

The American Petroleum Institute (API) releases its inventory number of the preceding storage week at 4:35 pm on Tuesday, the day prior to the more closely followed EIA Report Wednesday morning. It should be available here between 4:35 pm and 5:00 pm.



Crude Oil Storage Projections

Projected inventory levels are derived based on a measure of "tightness" or "looseness" of observed storage versus 5-year average storage over the preceding 6-weeks.

Current & Projected Crude Oil Inventories

The EIA releases its weekly Crude Oil Inventory Report Wednesday at 10:30 AM EDT for the week ending the previous Friday. Projected inventory levels are derived based on a measure of "tightness" or "looseness" of observed storage versus 5-year average storage over the preceding 4-weeks.


Current & Projected Crude Oil Storage Surplus or Deficit

Storage surpluses or deficits are calculated by comparing observed or projected inventories to the 5-year average and to the same period last year.
